I'm really excited about the new Spider-Man comic event, Spider-Verse!!
Spider-Verse is a Marvel Comics cross over event, centering around Spider-Man. But rather than crossing over with other Marvel characters like Captain America or Iron Man, Spider-Man will be crossing paths with... Spider-Man!! The story, which started in the preludes of "Superior Spider-Man #32", and the "Edge of Spider-Verse" mini series, is about the villain Morlun and his family of inter-dimensional vampire-like creatures. Except instead of drinking human blood, they feast on the souls of the various "Spider Totems" from across the Multiverse! The Spider-Man of the 616 Mainstream Marvel Universe must team up with all the Spider-Men from all the Universes! Let's do a roll call, shall we?
Spider-Man Noir, who is Peter Parker but from an alternate universe set in the 1930's.
Spider-Women, who was recently introduced in Edge of "Spider-Verse #2". In this reality, Gwen Stacy was bit by the radioactive spider, NOT Peter Parker. This issue was so popular that she is getting her own series after the event!
Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morales. Set in the Ultimate Universe, Miles Morales took up the mantle of Spider-Man after his universe's Peter Parker was killed!
Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O'Hara. From the alternate future year of 2099, but now currently stuck in the 616 Mainstream present.
And so many more!! This is just sample of the Spider-Men to fight in this epic battle against Morlun.
"Amazing Spider-Man #9" is the official start of the story, following the events of the "Edge of Spider-Verse" prologue story. That came out last week (November 5th) and was illustrated by the magnificent Olivier Coipel, my favorite mainstream comic artist! ASM #10 comes out on November 19th, I believe. This story is so good so far! If you want to read it, I suggest a visit to you local comic book shop. If that's not an option for you, let me know and I can hook you up with a way to read them on your computer for free.
Finally, here is a reading list of the entire epic, with all the various tie-ins and such:

Keep in mind that the main story will be focused into "Amazing Spider-Man" within 6 parts, all the rest is just extra fun goodness galore.
What do you guys think about this story idea? Do you plan on, or want to read it? Who is your favorite Spider-Hero?? I'll keep this thread updated as the story unfolds. I'm loving it so much so far!!
